At the Market Square

Even though during the course of its history ANTI has spread itself all the way to Tahkovuori, the Kuopio Market square has remained an important meeting place for the festival year after year. At the square in the heart of the city, the featured artists’ work mixes in with the mundanity of people going about their day-to-day business, offering all passersby a chance to encounter art, perhaps during their daily commute. Over the years the festival artists and audiences at the Kuopio market square have (among other things) launched teddybears onto a giant canvas, danced, played ping pong, and sung love songs for the continent.
